Art Show
Well, I'm a bit late posting about this art show that took place at my church this past Friday, but I thought it was worth posting about. My younger sister and mom both had submitted pieces into this art show, so my dad dropped them off at the church a few hours later and came home.
While he was gone, I took the liberty of making a Facebook live-stream consisting of the typical Kiah- flailing around and calling it dancing.
Anyway, after that, we ate dinner and then headed over to the church.
There were a lot of older people at the show and some families.
I ran into an old friend and hung out with her for awhile and a couple other people I'd heard of but never officially met until that day. It was overall a calming experience.
The funny thing is, when I'd first walked in, I looked over and saw tables covered with various desserts and was like, "OH MY GERSHH THERE'S SO MUCH!!!"
So, naturally, I ate a lot of dessert, but that's okay. We'll just call it a cheat day.
Anyway, I ran into a couple other friends while watching my youngest siblings and eating cake. We had a little bit to catch up and then my dad came to take over with watching the kids.
I used this as my chance to get away and start browsing the many art displays. I began examining each piece, trying to act professional and examining them, asking the artists about the stories behind them, and ultimately striking up conversations.
Coming in to this art show, I had absolutely no idea what I'd be expecting.
However, after discussion and looking at so many pieces of art, I took away a lot.
The passion these people have for what they do is phenomenal and their talent is clearly God-given. It reminded me so much to use the gifts God has given me for His glory.
Each piece has a wonderful story and looked absolutely wonderful on display.
I got into some wonderful discussions and also had the privilege of viewing some professional photography.

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

The primary thing I took away from the experience was the encouragement and motivation to continue doing what I love to do with excellence, yake nothing in life for granted and never to give up!
As we left that night, I went to grab another slice of that fabulous, Apple Cake.
However, thanks to a kind lady, I ended up leaving with the entire thing.
Of course, I shared. ;)
But, yes. I came home fully enlightened about both art and photography and ever since, I've been trying my very hardest to snap gorgeous photographs.
Maybe I'll share some one day....
