Winter Jam 2016

Whew! So, can we just dive into one of the best days of the entire month like now? Winter Jam 2016.
That Christian concert that makes it's way over to Arizona every year. Ten bands for ten dollars.
So, let's dive into it.
Last Friday, my best friend and her dad and brother came to pick us up along with some of our East Valley friends. I think there were eight of us total?
Anyway, we got to the venue, which was gorgeous...and one of my very favorite places to go to. #Memories
We were late but luckily, the security directed us to an extremely short line and we were inside the venue in about five minutes. Another friend of ours rushed up to us and told us we were late.
The initial plan was to combine our two groups and all sit together but the arena was huge and it was hard to find each other amidst 10,000+ people. By the time we got to where they were sitting, the seats they saved us were taken. Our group ended up settling for a balcony seat, which didn't have as bad quality sound as I thought it would. I was really excited that KB and Tedashii (two of my favorite rappers) came out and performed first. After they performed, I was like "Okay! We can go home now!" Jokingly of course. There were so many more great performances to come. We had terrific speakers and later, RED came out. See, I'd purposely volumized my hair so that when such an epic rock band came out, I could effectively head bang with my friends.
We all definitely had tons of laughs that night. And I ate a bunch of candy because I was hungry....
After that, a woman came and spoke who was a representative of HOLT International. I was in tears after hearing her testimony. When I went home that night, I started writing a book inspired by something she said. ((STAY TUNED))
After she finished speaking, we had a twenty minute intermission.
About ten thousand people were there! Here's a balcony view.

We all went to go buy some water, get some band merch and meet up with our other friends. Some of us also took a blurry selfie in line for concessions.
Micah, Kaleb, Rachel, Lianna, Joel and myself.
. After this, we all were planning on following our friend to some different seats, but at some point of us following each other in the crowded place, the lights in the room dramatically cut and we got separated. So, we decided to stay with our other group of friends until later.
A looootttt of the time we were running stairs and lobbies, looking for certain people. We had at least two doze friends at the concert so we did a lot of back and fourths! As a result, we ended up missing a portion of Britt Nicole's segment of the show but that's okay.
Towards the end, I got extremely close to Matthew West and caught a stray piece of confetti.
During the last song, my sister and I quickly got in line for the KB Meet and Greet.
As a rapper, he's one of my biggest inspirations and I was hoping I'd be able to take a picture with him as last year, security didn't want us taking pictures. As we were in line, our group came out and we determined that we were going to Wendy's afterwards to hang out. It was already midnight...so it was a party-all night kind of thing. Of course, I texted my parents and asked first and they kindly agreed.
As we got to the front of the line, I was fangirling hardcore. But, KB was honestly so chill. He was kind and I didn't stutter or anything. As I reached him, I had him sign some pieces of candy for my friends who couldn't make it...and sign a rubber bracelet for me. I told him I was a rapper and he was one of my biggest inspirations. The things he said next will always stick with me.
He nodded. He smiled and he said "Keep it up. God bless you." Simple. But, you don;t know how it feels to hear that from one of your favorite rappers.
We got a picture after that.
He was so sweet and we were even matching! <333

After everyone got to meet him and we got a group photo, our group and the other group went to Wendy's.
Happy memories

At Wendy's it was about 1 AM and we were all sleep drunk, and our friend bought us fries and it was just a fun time.
After that, we drove home and I ended up leaving the signed candy in my best friend's car...I was so tired I almost cried over it. Since it was almost 3 AM, I decided to just sleep and deal with it in the morning.
She said she'd mail them to me so it was good.
I also video chatted my dad because I hadn't seen him in 48 hours and for me, that was tragic. XD
I spent my Saturday catching up on sleep and the next day I went to church bragging about my fun night.

One thing stood put to me that night. - All those poeple on stage were shamelessly praising the name of Jesus and serving and ministering to this lost and broken world.
I want to make a difference like that. I've definitely chosen my role models wisely.
It was a wonderful, blessed night with friends, music and excitement.
Thank you, Winter Jam. You've brought an amazing night to me for the fourth year in a row. Here's to many more. <3

Until next year. ;)
